Why Should I Try Cranio-Sacral Therapy?

Craniosacral therapy (also called CST, cranial osteopathy, also spelled CranioSacral bodywork or therapy) is an alternative medicine therapy used by osteopaths, massage therapists, naturopaths, chiropractors, and occupational therapists. A craniosacral therapy session involves Philippa placing her hands on the client, which which allows her to tune into the craniosacral rythym. She gently works with the spine and the skull and its cranial sutures, diaphragms, and fascia. In this way, the restrictions of nerve passages are eased, the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spinal cord is optimized, resulting in deep natural relaxation. Philippa applies the therapy to treat mental stress. Cranio-sacral therapy is controversial and some therapists make claims and promises for all kinds of healing processes.  Personally having experienced this type of work and knowing this modality results in a euphoric sensation and deep relaxation, Philippa urges you to try cranio-sacral therapy for yourself and judge its merits on your own experience, and makes no claims for miraculous physical or mental healing powers.  Philippa uses the Upledger Technique 10 Step Protocol in which she has received advanced training

Discover CranioSacral Therapy

CST was pioneered and developed by osteopathic physician John E. Upledger following extensive scientific studies from 1975 to 1983 at Michigan State University, where he served as a clinical researcher and Professor of Biomechanics. CST is a gentle, hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the functioning of a physiological body system called the craniosacral system - comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Using a soft touch generally no greater than 5 grams, or about the weight of a nickel, practitioners release restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the central nervous system.
